Protections & Coverages

Avis offers optional protection products that can help lower your costs if a rental car is in an accident, stolen, damaged, or vandalized. You can add coverages for vehicle loss, medical needs, personal items, liability, sickness, and roadside help. LDW can limit your responsibility to no more than $2,000 in the U.S. when Avis provides it and you pay for it. Roadside Assistance Plus also includes fuel delivery up to 3 gallons. Excess reduction cover can cut repair costs and may lower them to zero.

Extended Roadside Assistance

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

We’ll take care of the vehicle - and your wallet. This protection covers damage or theft with no deductible, no insurance claims, and no added stress.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Accidents happen - make sure you're covered. PAI helps pay for medical expenses for you and your passengers, even when personal insurance or credit card coverage falls short.

Additional Liability Insurance (ALI)

Additional Liability Insurance protects you and all authorized drivers as defined in the Avis rental agreement against third-party injury and property-damage claims up to $500,000.

Emergency Sickness Plan (ESP)

ESP provides international renters visiting the U.S. with coverage for medical expenses resulting from sickness.

Personal Effects Insurance (PEP)

Your trip, your things - all protected. Covers theft or damage to your valuables, from electronics to luggage, throughout your rental period. Not typically included with credit card protections.

Third-Party Liability (TPL)

Protection Option for Non-US Resident Inbound Travelers are provided Third Party Liability Protection (“TPL”) up to a combined single limit of $300,000.
