Yes, MCO is the same as Orlando International Airport. (MCO is the airport code, which is used interchangeably with the full name of the airport.)
Orlando Airport uses the code “MCO” because the airport site was formerly McCoy Air Force Base. The base was named after Colonel Michael N. W. McCoy. Though the base closed down after the Vietnam War, the airport code is still associated with Orlando International Airport.
No, there are two commercial airports in the Orlando area. While the Orlando International Airport (MCO) is significantly larger, there is also Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). Though smaller than MCO, SFB is a viable option and just 30 miles from Orlando.
