Murcia is located in the heart of the White Coast of Spain making it one of the most popular summer destinations for tourism.
Start your trip by renting a car from the Avis branch at San Javier Airport. Head north by taking the Mediterranean Motorway to Torrevieja filled with an unspoiled coastline.
San Pedro's & Cartagena
Have a pit stop at San Pedro’s Natural Park filled with an array of wildlife. Alternatively head south and visit the area known as La Union in August, and join in with the popular flamenco festival. Drive a few miles further west to find the city of Cartagena, and explore the Roman ruins.
Finish your driving trip at Calblanque beach for some time out and before returning your Avis car back at the airport take make sure you visit La Mancha and Minor Sea for a good grill and paella!

Elche
Averaging 300 days of sunshine per year, the shoe capital of Spain is also famous for its palm trees. The Elche Palm Grove orchard has over 200,000 palm trees alone and is now a UNESCO heritage site. History buffs will really dig the many archaeological findings which include the famous The Lady of Elche sculpture. The Altamira Castle, Arabic Baths and Basilica of Santa Maria are also worth a visit. Those who can’t wait to dip their toes in the surf can take advantage of the long sandy beaches just 15 minutes’ drive from the centre.
Sierra de la Pila
If you are looking to spend some quality time immersed in nature, the Sierra de la Pila is less than an hour’s drive from Murcia. Hikers will be drawn to the rugged trails where nature shines in all its glory. Look out for the deer and wild boars that roam freely through the forested hills.
