Additional Information

Due to coronavirus pandemic the Taiwan Government are constantly updating local regulations regarding face-masks and self-isolation etc. Please note that Avis Budget & Zipcar have no choice but to follow these regulations and require all customers to do the same.  We do look forward to receiving your cooperation and understanding.

 For self drive rentals minimum age 20, maximum age 70. For prestige vehicles minimum age 25, maximum 70

Fuel Policy

Customers are required to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level upon picking up the vehicle. If a customer chooses not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, they will be charged using the local rate. A full tank of gas is not guaranteed.

Fuel option
Fuel Card will be provided per rental. Should lessees(renter) required petrol top-up, Only use provided Fuel Card for top-up at designated petrol station. Provide receipt of petrol purchased when returning to rental stations. Using any other means of payment (Cash, Credit/Debit Card...etc) will not be reimbursed. Fiill-up the tank before returning the vehicle. If car returned without tank filled up, a NTD 100 service fee will be applied.

Fuel charges
Fuel charges will be settled by station staff according to the distance travelled throughout the rental service. Charges for fuel, will be evaluate and announced per season.

Miscellaneous Information

Can I let anyone else drive?

Additional driver must present their valid IDP (International Driving Permit) and inform the counter when picking-up the car at the counter. Additional driver will be charged NT$120 per person. (One additional driver max).
All additional drivers must meet our age, driving licence and ID requirements.
Can I smoke in the vehicle?
No

Roadside Assistance
What happens if I break down because of a mechanical failure?
All our vehicles are maintained to the manufacturer's standards, and they're roadworthy when you pick them up so mechanical failure in our vehicles is rare. So long as you're using the vehicle in a country we've agreed to, we provide roadside assistance or recovery free of charge. You can only use our roadside assistance provider to help you. You'll find their contact details inside the vehicle.

Returns

I want to keep the vehicle for longer, what should I do?
If you want to extend the rental please contact us at booking@avis-taiwan.com or 24/7 hotline +886-2-6620-6620 as soon as possible. If the extension is available, extra fees will be charged and pay with location price.
What happens if I don't extend the rental?
If you fail to extend your rental and are late returning the vehicle, we will charge you for an extra day's rental plus a late return administration fee for each day or part of a day until the vehicle is returned.

Travel Into Other Countries

Taking the vehicle outside the country is not allowed.
