Damage Waiver (CDW)

In most cases, Damage Waiver is provided with the vehicle as standard. If it is included, it will be stated on your Rental Agreement Form (and in your booking confirmation).

Damage Waiver reduces the amount you pay for each clearly separate incident of damage if the vehicle is damaged (or the amount you pay to replace any keys, accessories or vehicle documents that are lost, stolen or damaged).

The amount you pay for each clearly separate incident of damage will be the lower of a) the applicable cost payable under the Theft, Loss, and Damages Policy; or b) the excess stated on your Rental Agreement Form.

Super Damage Waiver (SCDW)

An excess reduction product which reduces your damage waiver excess to zero (or, if higher, the amount shown on your Rental Agreement Form).

Normally between KRW 22,800.00 and KRW 66,800.00 per day.

Theft Protection waiver (TP)

In most cases, Theft Protection waiver is provided with the vehicle as standard. If it is included, it will be stated on your Rental Agreement Form (and in your booking confirmation).

Theft Protection waiver reduces the amount you pay if the vehicle is stolen during the rental period.

The amount you pay will be the lower of a) the applicable cost payable under the Theft, Loss, and Damages Policy; or b) the excess stated on your Rental Agreement Form.

Windscreen protection

This protection reduces the amount you pay to zero if the windscreen is damaged while you're renting the vehicle. Having windscreen protection also means you won't pay a Damage/Loss/Repair Processing Fee.

Roadside Assistance Plus

This product provides roadside assistance without any additional costs being charged if you break down as a result of vehicle failure you have caused (this includes lost keys).

Avis accepts Avis Charge Cards, AirPlus, American Express, BC Bankcard, Diners Club Int'l., Mastercard, Visa.

Not accepted

Requirement to bring a valid driving licence with you.

In the Republic of Korea, 
all drivers must bring their valid International driving Permits with them.

The IDP must be less than 1 year from issuance, issued from an embassy or consulate, and the country must be registered to the Geneva or Vienna Convention..
Only paper IDPs are accepted, and plastic driver's licenses are not valid.
A local license translated to English cannot substitute the IDP.
* EU Driver's license, International Drive License and International Driving Document is not accepted in Korea. 

Minimum licence requirements 
All drivers must have held their licence for at least 1 year from the date of pick-up. 

If a licence does not show the driver has held it for the minimum period, then they must provide evidence, such as: 

• previous driving licences; or
• a letter from their driving licence authority stating that they have held it for this minimum period.

These are the requirements the driver must meet to rent standard and premium cars.
The driver must:

• Have at least 1 year of driving experience.
• Be at least 21 years old (must pass his/her birthday).

These are the requirements the driver must meet to rent Luxury, Premium Electric cars and Van.The driver must :

• Have at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Be at least 26 years old (must pass his/her birthday).

Covers the driver of the vehicle and personal items in the vehicle in the event of an accident. Personal Accident Insurance provides the following benefits:

• Personal Injuries: Up to ₩15 million per person, Up to ₩150 million per accident
• Property damage: Up to ₩20 million per accident
• Third party liability: Unlimited coverage

* Currency base : Korean Won 

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

Minimum age: renters must be at least 21 years old to rent most vehicles. For luxury vehicles, an additional age requirement of 26 years or older is added.

Maximum age: N/A

Approximate total includes base rate, taxes, and surcharges. Items such as one-way fees, coupon discounts, registration fee, child safety seats and gas are NOT included in the estimated total. Optional coverages and one-way fees are subject to tax in certain locations. This tax is not reflected in the Estimated Total.

Estimated total is subject to change based upon exchange rates at the time of rental.

If you want to pick up the vehicle and return it to a different location, an additional fee will be payable.

If you asked for a one-way rental when you booked, the fee will be included in your total rental price.

If you didn't ask for a one-way rental when you booked and you want to return the vehicle to a different location in the same country, you can expect pay an additional fee of between KRW 37,000.00 and KRW 328,000.00

Drop offs at a different location must be agreed with us in advance. Please contact us if you would like to understand what additional fee will apply to a one-way rental in circumstances where it didn't form part of your original rental agreement.

If you did not request a one-way rental but return the vehicle to a different location, you will be charged a one-way fee at the 'pay at location' prices available on the day you return the vehicle.

Vehicles are not permitted to leave South Korea.
