The airport is located on the southeast side of the city of Béziers with good road access via the D613 coast road and A9 highway linking the city of Orange with the Spanish border.

In the Old Town with its winding medieval streets, it’s possible to get a real sense of life in centuries gone by. The main attraction here is the Romanesque cathedral, which was constructed in the 13th century. By the cathedral is a fantastic vantage point for viewing the rest of the city and the vineyard-filled countryside beyond. To dive straight into the culture of the city, head to the Musée des Beaux Arts, the best art museum in town, which exhibits important works from the likes of Rubens and Delacroix.

In just over half an hour on the A9 from Béziers Airport, you can reach the town of Narbonne, on the Mediterranean coast. The Horreum is the only remnant of Roman Narbonne that exists here, a spooky old warehouse that history enthusiasts will enjoy. And food lovers should head to Les Halles, an indoor market with huge glass windows lined with locally produced cheeses, local pastries and breads, fruit and vegetables and more.

Gruissan
Ten minutes further on the A9 and you’ll reach the charming fishing village of Gruissan. This is a place to stroll along the marina while admiring the yachts and to take in some fresh sea air. There’s a huge beach here, popular for daytime sunbathing and evening barbecues or course you can enjoy the local cuisine in one of Gruissan’s many popular restaurants.
