Additional Liability (ALI) - Mandatory

Public liability and property damage coverage is not included in rates. Customers are required to purchase ALI with every rental. 

Provides protection for third party liability in case of bodily injury and/or property damage to a third party (excluding the renter and/or driver of the Avis vehicle), up to a maximum of approximately 10,000.00 USD per occurrence with a deductible of 700.00 USD. The cost of ALI insurance is included in the approximate total.

Customer may be fully waived of this deductible with the purchase of LDW.

Cash rentals are not allowed.
All renters must have an Avis-honored charge card or debit card to rent a vehicle.

La Exoneración en caso de pérdida o daños (LDW) es opcional (más impuestos)

La compra de la póliza LDW es opcional (sujeta a impuestos). Si se adquiere la póliza LDW, la responsabilidad financiera del cliente por daños en caso de colisión será de 1,000 USD.  El cliente es responsable por el valor total del vehículo si no adquiere la póliza de Exoneración en caso de pérdida o daños (LDW).

La Protección contra robo (TP) está incluida en la póliza de Exoneración en caso de daños por colisión (CDW).Si acepta la LDW, la responsabilidad civil del cliente se reducirá a 20 % del valor del vehículo.  (Esto no cubre el robo a piezas del vehículo). Las coberturas de seguro globales siempre están sujetas a cambio.  Verifique al momento del alquiler.

Avis acepta tarjetas de pago Avis, American Express, MasterCard y Visa.  Se aplicará la retención de un cargo adicional en la tarjeta que oscila entre 500.00 USD y 1,500.00 USD, dependiendo del grupo al que pertenezca el vehículo alquilado.

Debit cards are accepted.  If you are paying with a debit card the rental must be prepaid at the counter.  Debit cards are accepted for payment and deposit.

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence. Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid driver's license.

An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a driver's existing license, and by itself is not acceptable for vehicle rental. When required, an IDP must be used in conjunction with the driver's valid, current license as issued by the country of residence.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) - Not available.

Super PAI (SPAI) - Not Available.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

At this location the minimum age is 23, renters 23-24 years will be charged an underage fee of 35.00 USD per day.  

Renters 71 or over will be charged an additional rental fee of rental fee of 35.00 USD per day.

Cars can be returned to other Avis locations within Nicaragua based on car availability.  Fees vary according to distance between locations and depending on car group rented. One way fees may also apply to any special equipment rented. Vehicles are not permitted to go one-way outside of Nicaragua.
