Seguro en caso de daños por colisión (exento de impuestos)
Este seguro brinda cobertura por daños al vehículo de Avis no causados por robo o intento de robo. Se aplica un exceso no exonerable que es responsabilidad del cliente.
Si se rechaza la CDW, el cliente será responsable del valor total del vehículo y, en caso de daños, estos se facturarán automáticamente a la tarjeta de crédito del cliente.
Cuando el cliente crea que existe un acuerdo relacionado con la cobertura del seguro de su tarjeta de crédito, deberemos explicar que dicho acuerdo es entre el cliente y la compañía de su tarjeta de crédito. Avis no puede garantizar ningún nivel de seguro con la tarjeta de crédito del cliente.
Si tiene su propia cobertura de seguro, debe presentar una copia de su póliza de seguro para automóviles al momento del alquiler.
Para los clientes que solo toman el seguro básico, y no el seguro adicional para reducir el exceso a 0 al momento del alquiler, tomaremos autorización para el monto del exceso (que, dependiendo del tamaño del vehículo, será de entre 1322.00 EUR y 2643.00 EUR + IVA) en la tarjeta de crédito de cliente.
Rechazo de exoneración en caso de daños por colisión (CDW)/Protección contra robo
La CDW (Exoneración en caso de daños por colisión) y el seguro de Protección contra robo reducen su responsabilidad financiera por daño o robo del vehículo.
Al rechazar estos seguros, usted asume la responsabilidad de contratar su propia cobertura y de asumir toda la responsabilidad financiera hasta el valor del vehículo por pérdidas que surjan como resultado de extravío o daños causados al vehículo. Se requerirá un comprobante escrito de la cobertura de CDW y Protección contra robo en Irlanda al retirar el vehículo.
Le recomendamos que comprenda totalmente las condiciones de cobertura proporcionadas por la empresa de su tarjeta de crédito cuando utilice su tarjeta para cobertura de seguro. Asegúrese de comunicarse con el proveedor de su tarjeta de crédito para confirmar que tienen cobertura en la República de Irlanda.

Se requiere que los clientes que rechacen la CDW y la Protección contra robo

En el caso de reclamos efectuados utilizando un seguro que no fuese Avis, trataremos con el cliente y no con su proveedor de seguro.
Si tiene su propia cobertura de seguro, debe presentar una copia de su póliza de seguro para automóviles al momento del alquiler.

No aceptamos pólizas de daños por colisión o reembolso de terceros como protección de viaje.
Protección para el parabrisas: reduce el exceso a cero en caso de daños al parabrisas delantero.  También se ofrece en forma separada a un costo de EUR 4.00 por día
Súper CDW 
La póliza SCDW se vende solamente en el mostrador al momento de retirar el vehículo. Cuando se acepta la SCDW se elimina el exceso por colisión y robo.
Costos de la Súper CDW:
Grupos A, B, D, J, L, N, P = EUR 19.50 por día. (sin impuestos)
Grupos C, E, F, K, M, O = EUR 24.00 por día. (sin impuestos)
Grupos G, H, I = EUR 28.00 por día. (sin impuestos)
La Súper CDW ahora cubre daños a los neumáticos.
La Super CDW no incluye cobertura del parabrisas, la cual puede agregarse por un cargo de EUR 4.00 por día.
El cliente sigue siendo responsable de la pérdida de las llaves.

Nota: Cuando se rechacen las coberturas CDI y/o TP y las súper coberturas, los clientes serán responsables de todo el valor del vehículo de Avis en caso de daños o robo. En el mostrador se obtendrá una autorización para retención de fondos en la tarjeta de crédito del cliente por el valor del monto por el cual es responsable el cliente. Esto asegura la disponibilidad de fondos en caso de un accidente.

Avis Ireland accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard / Eurocard, Visa.

Debit cards are not accepted.

Customers must have been eligible to hold a valid drivers licence for 8 years of which 2 must be at a full drivers licence qualification.

To rent a People Carrier, customers must have been eligible to hold a valid drivers licence for 10 years of which 2 must be at a full drivers licence qualification.

To rent a Minibus, a 4x4, Executive, Premium or a Luxury Car, customers must have been eligible to hold a valid drivers licence for 12 years of which 2 must be at a full drivers licence qualification.

Customers with a new photocard drivers licence must produce both the photocard and its paper counterpart.  Visitors from overseas must produce a driving licence issued in their permanent country of residence, along with a translation into English (where appropriate).  Only the renter or drivers approved by Avis are permitted to drive the vehicle.

UK Driving Licences have 1 part - a plastic, credit card-sized photo card licence.  You must bring this original valid photo card driving licence with you if it is a new style UK licence.  Failure to bring a valid photo card driving license will result in the rental being refused.  We may require customers to consent to their licence records being accessed as needed. Expired photo card licences will not be accepted and rental will be refused.&nbps; All UK customers will need to hold a full and valid licence free from any endorsements excluded in our terms & conditions.
If any driver has any unspent driving convictions for:
- careless, reckless or dangerous driving,
- driving or attempting to drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs
- using a vehicle uninsured against third party risks,
- theft or unauthorised taking of a vehicle - or
- been disqualified (or anything similar) in the last 10 years or if you have 2 or more unspent convictions for offences not listed above, your rental will be refused.
If you fail to disclose any driving convictions you may be fully liable for any damage to our vehicle or third party vehicle.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

The charge for an additional driver is 9.50 EUR including VAT per day per additional driver.
Terms of rental for an additional driver are the same as the main driver.

The renter must be over 25 years old to rent standard cars in Ireland.

The renter must have been eligible to hold a valid driving licence for 8 years of which 2 years must be at a

full driving licence qualification.

To rent a people carrier, customers must have been eligible to hold a valid driving licence for 10 years of

which 2 years must be at full driver's licence qualification.

To rent a minibus, a 4x4, premium or a luxury car customers must have been eligible to hold a valid

driver's licence for 12 years of which 2 years must be at a full driver's licence qualification.

Restrictions may be reduced where renters provide their own fully comprehensive insurance cover, by

prior arrangement only. If you have your own insurance cover, you must produce a copy of your motor

insurance policy at the time of rental.

For any customers that are aged 76 years and over, Avis requires the following:

• Confirm that you drive on a regular basis.

• Provide us with a letter from your insurance company to confirm that you have an up to date insurance

  policy, and have not had any accident in the past 5 years.

• Provide us with a letter from your doctor confirming that you are in good health and fit to drive.
• The Avis rental agent may ask to sit in the car with you to assess your driving.

If you cancel your booking on the same day the reservation is made, no cancellation fee will be applied.

If you cancel your booking up to 3 days prior to collection a cancellation fee of 40 EUR/ 50 EUR will apply by way of compensation to AFC.

If you fail to cancel your reservation within 3 days prior to the rental date and time shown in your booking, the full amount of the prepayment will be charged by way of compensation to AFC.

In order to obtain a refund of the amount you have paid for your voucher (where applicable) you must write to the following address requesting the money be refunded.

To clarify, no refund will be given if:

• You do not use any part of your reservation period; or

• You change your booking and the charges for the Rental Services are less than the amount you paid for the original booking.

You can amend your booking at no charge, either through the call centre or on-line. Bear in mind that any changes to the rental may result in a different rate.

If you wish to drive into Northern Ireland your rental will be subject to a cross border coverage fee of 34 Euro. Avis cars may not be taken outside the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and Theft Protection insurance reduce your financial liability for damage or theft of the vehicle.

By declining these insurances you are taking responsibility to arrange your own cover and assume full financial liability up to the value of the vehicle for losses arising as a result of loss or damage to the vehicle. Written proof of CDW and Theft Protection coverage in Ireland will be required when picking up the vehicle .

We recommend that you fully understand the conditions of cover provided by your credit card company when using your card for insurance cover.  Please ensure you contact your Credit Card Provider to ensure they cover the Republic Of Ireland.

Customers declining CDW and Theft Protection are required

• To leave a liability deposit or a charge card hold of 5,000 EUR.

• To pay an administration fee of 30.00 EUR applies for use of this service.

   

For any claims made when using insurance other than Avis, then we will deal with the renter and not with their insurance provider.

If you wish to extend your rental while on rent, you should contact the station that you picked the car up from. Their contact details will be on the rental agreement you are given at the start of the rental.

It is the renters responsibility to pay any fines directly. Any unpaid fines will be re-charged along with an administration fee of 30.00 EUR.

There are a number of options in relation to fuel. You can either purchase fuel-up-front , which means that you can return the car empty, or you can fill up the tank yourself prior to returning the car.
If you return the car with less fuel than when you started the rental, then the fuel will be charged to your credit card at the end of the rental.

You can book your GPS on-line, but you cannot pre-pay for it on-line. It will be charged at the desk. Rates are 15 EUR per day.

If you have booked a rate that includes the basic insurance (CDW = collision damage waiver and theft protection), then in the case of an accident you will be liable for the first 1322.00 EUR+VAT to 2643.00 EUR+VAT depending on the car size, for any damage that is caused to your rental car.

You have the option to purchase additional insurance at the desk, which will reduce your excess to 0, with the exception of keys. The rate for this additional insurance is from 19.50 EUR to 28 EUR per day including VAT,depending on the car size. Windscreen cover is available from 4 EUR per day including VAT.

If a rental is subject to a one-way fee, this will be included in the rate you are quoted.

If you wish to drive the car into Northern Ireland your rental will be subject to a cross border coverage fee of EUR 34. This fee covers cross border vehicle retrieval in case of breakdown. Avis cars may not be taken outside Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

• Avis and Avis-honored vouchers are accepted as payment only. Renters must also present an Avis-honored credit card.
• MCO (Miscellaneous Charge Order): This in an airline document a travel agent may use for prepayment if they have no Avis vouchers. MCOs are not accepted in Ireland,
