Situated on the banks of the River Alle in the Lower Heath area of Lower Saxony, the historic town of Celle is the place to visit for historic architecture and museums. Interesting sights here include Celle Palace which was formerly a 13th-century castle and characterful timber-framed houses, such as the Hoppener Haus which features five talking street lamps in front of its façade.
