How it Works:
Lock the vehicle and place the keys in the key drop box for After Hours Returns located in the return area. Don't forget to remove all your belongings from the vehicle prior to returning the keys.
A vehicle that is returned after hours will be checked in when the location opens the next business day. If returning after hours when a location is closed, the customer is responsible for the vehicle until the satisfactory check in of the rental vehicle the next business day.

In this thorough road trip plan, we’ll take you from our San Antonio car rental location at the San Antonio International Airport, across the western plains of Texas, past a historical site or two, through the most notorious ghost town in the Lone Star State, to the Big Bend National Park.
The San Antonio International Airport is approximately 9.5 miles from downtown San Antonio. With no traffic, you can drive there in about 13 minutes. During rush hour, the drive can take closer to 25 minutes. Plan your trip accordingly based on the time you need to arrive.
Yes. If you need to sleep in the airport, you may do so. There are many chairs in the public waiting spaces (though they have armrests, so you’ll have to sleep sitting up). There are seats without armrests in some parts of Terminal A. VIP lounges are also available. *source
TSA guidelines are clear: get to the airport two hours before the departure of your domestic flight, or three hours before your international flight. If you rented a car with Avis and will need to return it before your flight, give yourself additional time to complete your return.
