Rental vehicle must be returned during office hours.
NOTE: Some locations may have a key drop available:
Drop Box Available: If the customer chooses to leave the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages or theft of the vehicle may have incurred during after hours) until the contract can be closed on the following business day.
Drop Box NOT Available: If the location does not have a key drop box, the location does not permit vehicles to be left after closing hours. The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is optional,except for renters between 21 and 25 it’s mandatory.
Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. Purchase of CDW reduces liability to an amount of 2,000.00 USD for all car groups in the event of an accident to the Avis vehicle.
Theft Protection (TP) is included in the purchase of CDW
Reduces the customer liability to 20% of the value of the rented vehicle. Partial theft (accessories, parts, etc.) and theft which occurs due to customers negligence (not locking vehicle or securing keys) is not covered.
NOTE: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage or third party insurance coverage as a benefit to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer or third party insurance coverage before the rental to be sure about covered limitation and must get written proof on official letterhead noting that they will:
• Cover the specific type of vehicle being rented,
• Includes, at minimum, third-party liability and CDW coverage, and
• Provides coverage outside the renter’s country of origin or offers worldwide coverage.
Any waiver must be discussed with the location upon arrival.
If the renter is unable to provide written proof meeting these requirements, Avis Honduras reserves the right to require the purchase of the mandatory CDW and ALI coverage locally, which will be added as an additional charge to the rental.
If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.
