Drop Box Available: If the customer chooses to leave the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages or theft of the vehicle may have incurred during after hours) until the contract can be closed on the following business day.
Drop Box NOT Available: If the location does not have a key drop box, the location does not permit vehicles to be left after closing hours. The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is Optional
Provides full coverage in case of accident or damage to the vehicle with zero deductible, subject to a police report and completion of the insurance claim form. Does not cover wheels, tires, glass (unless accident-related), tools, accessories, or mechanical damage due to misuse.
Theft Protection (TP) is included in the LDW
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Optional
Purchase of CDW reduces liability to 3000.00 USD in the event of an accident, collision, or theft to the Avis vehicle. Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if CDW is declined.
Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

NOTE: All insurance coverages (LDW, CDW, PAI, ALI & WTC) apply only to the drivers registered on the rental agreement and require the presentation of a traffic accident report in case of an incident. By signing the rental agreement, the renter acknowledges and accepts the terms, conditions, and responsibilities of the selected insurance options in accordance with national laws. Declining any of the available coverages implies that the renter assumes full responsibility for any damages caused to third parties or to the Avis Belize vehicle, authorizing Avis Belize (Transport and Tourism Promotor Ltd.) to proceed accordingly. In the event of damages, the renter shall be required to settle any monetary indemnification locally before departing the country.
