As there are ample photo opportunities along the way, this winding coastal road will take about half a day to properly explore. The route will also give you a chance to stop and take in the sea air, and perhaps even explore one of the many hiking trails that branch off the loop.

Cork
On the south-east coast sits Ireland’s second largest city, Cork, which is accessible in an hour and a half from Kerry. Cork is the gastronomic centre of County Cork and you should sample as much local fare as possible while visiting. The Cork English covered market is held daily and serves local artisan produce such as traditional soda breads and Kerry cheeses. Before leaving, be sure to drive to Blarney, which is just 8km from Cork, and kiss the Blarney stone. Legend has it that anyone who kisses this attraction will be endowed with the gift of eloquence.
