Find your perfect car hire at Humberside International Airport

East Yorkshire offers a wealth of sightseeing and outdoor opportunities for road trippers – ranging from museums and galleries to cycling trips and water sports.

The region’s lively cities and the entire Yorkshire coast are easily accessed by hire car. Just pick up your rental from the Avis hire station at Humberside International Airport and start touring this beautiful part of England.

Plan your journey from Humberside International Airport

Established in the 12th century, Hull lies on the banks of the Humber estuary.

A busy port, it’s also brimming with culture, with an entire area dedicated solely to museums. You can easily spend an entire day in the Museum Quarter perusing the different exhibitions and galleries. The Streetlife Museum of Transport displays re-created alleys from the Georgian and Victorian eras, while Wilberforce House has been turned into a museum all about the abolition of the slave trade. There’s also Hull & East Riding Museum and Hull Maritime Museum, to name a couple.

Hull’s top attraction is The Deep, a £45m aluminium building overlooking the Humber estuary. Inside you’ll find an aquarium and museum well worth exploring.

While you have your rental, make sure you drive across the magnificent Humber Bridge. Opened in 1981, the bridge is the second longest single-span suspension bridge in the world.

This is just a small taste of what Hull has to offer, but the best way to see it all is to tour the area. Shopping districts, parks, river cruises and much more are waiting to be discovered. All you need to do is drive.

Frequent renters get upgraded – and additional days for free – by signing up for Avis Preferred loyalty benefits. Simply choose a date and time and we’ll prepare your quality hire car.

Beyond Humberside International Airport

East Yorkshire has much appeal. Set off on the road in your Avis hire car and enjoy some of the most beautiful drives in the country.

Lincolnshire Wolds

Just a 30-minute drive from Humberside International Airport are the Lincolnshire Wolds – a tranquil expanse of farming land designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The views across the land are unparalleled and hiking is very popular in these parts. If you don’t fancy the walk, driving between the idyllic villages in the area provides an equally enjoyable experience.

York

At the heart of this historic city lies York Minster – one of the most extraordinary gothic cathedrals in the world. En route, meander through the narrow medieval streets in the city centre and be sure to walk the 13th-century walls that encircle the old town.

Nottingham

An hour-and-a-half’s drive from Humberside International Airport brings you to the city made famous by folklore hero Robin Hood. Nottingham Castle is a must-see, while a tour through the City of Caves is an intriguing way to discover what lies below the city. Be sure to explore Sherwood Forest while you’re here, which is just an hour outside of Nottingham. Wandering through the woodlands provides the perfect pit stop.

Unlock your Avis hire car and gain the freedom to discover Hull, the outlying countryside and its neighbouring cities and towns at your leisure.
