Cannes needs no introduction. While it may be one of the most well-known cities in the world, it has many different sides to discover. From Cannes Train Station, all that the city has to offer is within a short drive.

To get in touch with its cultural heart, head straight to the old town - Le Suquet. This was once the fisherman’s quarter and features characterful and narrow streets, traditional restaurants and historic monuments. Don’t miss visiting Cannes Castle, which is perched at the top of the old town, overlooking the bustling quays and Mediterranean sea. The Musée de la Castre is housed inside the castle and is well worth visiting too. As is the Notre Dame de l'Espérance, a medieval church located next to the castle.

The coastline of Cannes has a number of beaches for visitors to enjoy. While many are private and can be accessed by paying a day fee, there are also public beaches, such as Plage de la Bocca and Plages du Midi, ideal for soaking up the sun, sea and sand. For those in search of active pursuits, an array of water sports can be enjoyed in Cannes, like kite surfing, snorkelling and stand up paddleboarding. Beach volleyball is another popular activity and there are courts set up on some of the beaches.

As always, Cannes remains a popular playground with the rich and famous, and you’re likely to see plenty of yachts bobbing in the sea while you’re here. But there’s much more to this city than the glitz and glamour.

Located on the beautiful Côte d'Azur in the south of France, Antibes is just a 30-minute drive from Cannes via the D6007. This picturesque seaside town is brimming with historic charm. The characterful cobbled streets and buildings in the old town have attracted many writers and artists over the centuries, including the legendary Pablo Picasso.

Don't miss visiting the Château Grimaldi, which houses the Picasso Museum, featuring paintings and drawings that he completed in the town. Another gem is the waterfront area that’s split between the old harbour and the ultra-upscale Port Vauban, where luxurious yachts are moored.

Nice

One of France's most visited cities, Nice occupies a sunny position on the French Riviera. From spectacular scenery and historic sights to world-class restaurants and shopping, there's always plenty to do and see here.

Don't miss visiting the city's exceptional museums, which include the Musée Marc Chagall, featuring some of the artist's stained glass pieces, and the Musée des Arts Asiatiques, where work from India, China, south-east Asia and other parts of the world can be admired. A beautiful and tranquil part of the city is Parc Phoenix – a botanical garden boasting thousands of plants. All of this is reachable within a 40-minute drive from Cannes on the A8.
