Stockholm
Historic Stockholm is a fascinating city comprising 14 islands and boasting a long list of attractions including the Stockholm Cathedral, the Nobel Museum and the Royal Palace. From the airport, you can be in Gamla Stan, the Old Town, in less than an hour and half. A very cultural city, there are a wide range of galleries to see here, including Moderna Museet, which has a collection of works from icons such as Picasso, Dali and Matisse, and Fotografiska, a photography museum that regularly changes its exhibitions. The Vasa Museum is a must-visit. It displays a huge warship that was salvaged from the city’s harbour where it sank on its maiden voyage in 1628. The Bergius Botanic Garden, offering collections of shrubs, plants and exotic plants from around the world is another top attraction.
