Rental vehicle must be returned during office hours.

NOTE: Some locations may have a key drop available:

Drop Box Available: If the customer chooses to leave the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages or theft of the vehicle may have incurred during after hours) until the contract can be closed on the following business day.

Drop Box NOT Available: If the location does not have a key drop box, the location does not permit vehicles to be left after closing hours. The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.

Iceland is a land of geothermal activity, jagged coastlines, and mountainous landscapes, all of which can easily be discovered on leisurely drives from Reykjavik.

Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most coveted tourist destinations. These geothermal pools are located just 40 minutes from Reykjavik via Route 41 and are open all year round. Coming here to relax in the warm waters, which are rich in minerals, is always popular. There are also many of the spa services available here, including floating massages.

The Golden Circle

Many people who visit Iceland are intrigued by this country’s volcanic landscape and its many waterfalls. The Golden Circle is the classic route for checking out Thingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfall, and the famous Geysir, which spouts hot steam into the air every few minutes. The entire route is 300km, but in just 30 minutes along Route 49 you’ll reach Thingvellir National Park.

Vik

After a quick 2-hour drive from Reykjavik via Þjóðvegur (also known as Route 1 in English), you’ll arrive in the small village of Vik. From here it’s easy to visit the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, as well as the famous Black Sand Beach. While you’re in the area, you can also stop in at the Skógasafn Folk Museum. Visitors can learn more about Icelandic culture, especially the sod farmhouses that have been restored on the museum grounds.

Once you've landed at Reykjavik Domestic Airport, it'sjust a five-minute drive from the city centre, via Nauthólsvegur. The capital city sits on the coast and is framed by tall mountains. Get a perfect 360-degree view of the area by climbing the tower at Hallgrimskirkja church, Reykjavik's most famous building. This place is also known for its huge pipe organ.

Although it’s a small city, Reykjavik is renowned for its lively downtown area, filled with shops, pubs, and restaurants, and, throughout the year, visitors will find festivals of all kinds here. The award-winning Harpa is the city’s concert hall and conference centre, while the Sun Voyager sculpture, resembling a Viking ship, is the focal point of the harbour area. A stroll along the waterfront here comes highly recommended.

Visit the National Museum of Iceland in Reykjavik, featuring a large collection of art, tools and furniture, and archaeological artefacts. There’s also the Árbær open air museum, meant to resemble what a farm town looked like in the 20th century.
