What are the age requirements for renting a car in Grenoble?

The minimum age to rent a car in France is 18. Age restrictions also vary by vehicle and some selected car groups are not available to drivers under the age of 25.

There is currently no maximum age for hiring a rental car, so long as you have had a full, valid, license for at least 1 year. Some additional steps may be required for those who are over the age of 75 on the date of the scheduled return.

What is parking like in Grenoble?

There are plenty of public car parks in and around Grenoble city centre including several close to our rental location at Grenoble Train Station. On-street and park and ride options are also available.

The centre of Grenoble is a drive of around 35min depending on the time of day. You leave the airport car park and take the D1085 south east following signs into the city centre.  

As a university city and thriving commercial centre, Grenoble in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is renowned as vibrant city, popular for its culture, nightlife and food scene.

Don’t miss the Bastille fortress, the international art at the Musée de Grenoble or the 13th Century Bishops Palace. Take a bubble (Les Bulles) spherical cable car to the summit of Bastille Hill and sample the mountain dishes of the region – tartiflette and fondue – in one of the numerous restaurants between the banks of the River Isere and cathedral precincts.
