Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Optional
Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken.  Purchase of CDW reduces liability to an amount between 100.00 BHD and 250.00 BHD depending on car group rented in the event of an accident to the Avis vehicle.

Theft Protection (TP) is Optional
Customer is liable for the full value of the Avis vehicle if Theft Protection (TP) is not taken.  Purchase of TP reduces liability to an amount between  100.00 BHD and 250.00 BHD depending on car group rented for theft of parts or all of the Avis vehicle. 

Note:  The renter must obtain an accident report from the Bahrain Tarffic Authority for every accident or incident.  If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Avis Bahrain accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard / Access, Visa.
At the time of rental the customer must leave a prepayment equal to the total charges of the rental, plus a security deposit of up to BHD 250.00 depending on car group rented.

Debit cards are not accepted.

Requirement to bring a valid driving licence with you.

In Bahrain, Immediate driving is permitted upon presentation of a valid Bahraini driving licence, Alternatively, a licence issued by:

• Saudi Arabia 
• Kuwait 
• Qatar 
• Arab Emirates 
• Oman 

Or accepted national licence with an international drivers permit issued by:

• European countries 
• North America 
• Far east 
• Australia 

A national licence from any other country is not permitted. 

Production of any accepted national licence requires conversion to a Bahraini licence, this will cost BHD 25.000 per licence and requires the production of original passport, national driving licence and two passport sized photographs. 

Allow 24 hours for conversion into a Bahraini licence before driving will be permitted. 

Minimum licence requirements 

All drivers must have held their licences for at least 1 year from the date of pick-up. 

If a licence does not show the driver has held it for the minimum period, then they must provide evidence, such as: 

previous driving licences; or

a letter from their driving licence authority stating that they have held it for this minimum period.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

At this location the minimum age is 21 for car groups A,B,C,D,F,L.
All other car groups minimum age is 25.  

Approximate total includes base rate, taxes, and surcharges. Items such as coupon discounts, child safety seats, conversion to a Bahraini driving license and gas are NOT included in the estimated total. Optional coverages and one-way fees are subject to tax in certain locations. This tax is not reflected in the Estimated Total.
