AVIS FIRST TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE ACCESSING OR USING THE AVIS FIRST SERVICE.
Your access to and use of the Avis First service (“Avis First”) constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Avis First Terms and Conditions (“Avis First Terms”), which establish a contractual relationship between you and Avis Rent A Car System, LLC, together with any affiliate operating under the Avis brand or independent Avis System Licensee identified in your rental agreement (collectively, “Avis”). Your use of Avis First is also subject to the Avis Rental Terms and Conditions, the Avis Preferred Terms and Conditions, and the Avis Privacy Policy, each of which is incorporated herein by reference.
Reservation Terms/Late Fees. All Avis First reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the rental and can only be made via Avis.com or the Avis mobile app. You must meet all standard Avis rental and driver qualifications. All rentals must be prepaid at the time of reservation. Any Avis First fees applicable to your rental will be charged in addition to any standard fees and charges applicable to your rental. Avis First is not available at all locations or for all car classes. Avis First customers must arrive at the designated vehicle delivery or return location within 15 minutes of the scheduled time shown in the Avis mobile app. A late fee of $5 applies to arrivals more than 10 minutes after the scheduled time. The late fee does not apply when a customer’s arrival is delayed due to a verified commercial flight delay. Customers arriving more than 15 minutes late will forfeit access to Avis First concierge service, and the customer must proceed to the rental counter to complete the transaction. If arriving late for a vehicle pickup, the reservation may be subject to cancellation. If arriving late for a vehicle return, the customer may be required to complete drop-off at the rental location without concierge assistance.
Payment Card. Except where required by applicable law, only credit cards are an acceptable method of payment for the Avis First service. In New York, a debit card is accepted as credit identification only for Economy cars, Compact cars, Intermediate cars, Standard cars, Full-size cars, or Standard SUVs. The rental of any other vehicle class will require a major credit card. Avis reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to seek an authorization hold on the payment card provided in excess of the estimated rental charges.
Cancellation/Modification/Refunds. Cancellations, no-shows, and early returns may affect your refund eligibility. If you cancel your Avis First reservation at least 24 hours before scheduled delivery, you will receive a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 24 hours before scheduled delivery, you will receive a full refund minus a $150 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for no-shows or if you return the vehicle early after the rental begins. Upon cancellation of an Avis First reservation, the reservation amount and any authorized excess deposit, less the applicable cancellation fee, will be released to the original payment method. Refunds may post in multiple transactions, subject to the card issuer’s processing policies. Modifications must be made via the Avis mobile app at least 24 hours in advance of the beginning of the rental. Modifications to the rental may result in additional fees or charges.
Vehicle Delivery & Return. You must comply with all notices on the Avis mobile app pertaining to vehicle delivery and return. The failure to do so may result in additional fees and charges and will void any rental coverages and protections, including, but not limited to Loss Damage Waiver (“LDW”) and Additional Liability Insurance (“ALI”). Airport Locations: The vehicle must be returned to an Avis First concierge. You agree that at vehicle return, you will not leave the vehicle unattended or in the care of anyone who is not an Avis First concierge. Other Locations: Vehicle delivery and return will be coordinated through the Avis mobile app.
Optional Products & Services. Optional products, services, protections and coverages (“Options”) must be elected via Avis.com or through the Avis mobile app. Some Options, including LDW, ALI, and Additional Authorized Driver(s), can be added to the rental up to and until the beginning of the rental.
