La souscription de l'assurance collision sans franchise (ACF) est facultative (assujettie aux taxes)
Le client assume une responsabilité pouvant aller jusqu'à 750 000 ARI si l'assurance collision sans franchise (ACF) n'est pas souscrite. Si l'ACF n'est pas souscrite, le dépôt/imputation à la carte de crédit totaliserai les frais de location estimés plus : le plein d'essence et les frais de carburant, le montant de responsabilité du client pour le véhicule, tout équipement spécial et tous les frais et surcharges applicables.  Si l'ACF est souscrite, la responsabilité du locataire est réduite à 500 ARI pour toutes les catégories de véhicules. 

La protection contre le vol (PV) n'est pas offerte.

Remarque : Si vous avez besoin d’une assurance complémentaire, vous pouvez vous la procurer localement pour réduire ou supprimer la franchise.  Renseignez-vous au comptoir de location Avis lorsque vous prendrez possession de votre voiture..

Les succursales Avis acceptent les cartes de crédit Avis, MasterCard et Visa.
Aucune location payée en liquide n’est admise.
Une caution supplémentaire par carte de crédit sera appliquée. Consulter les protections facultatives si l'ACF n'est pas souscrite.
Remarque : Certains émetteurs de cartes de crédit offrent une couverture, sous réserve de certaines restrictions, à titre d’avantage pour avoir loué leur véhicule. Il est fortement recommandé au client de communiquer avec l'émetteur de la carte avant d'effectuer la location pour une protection particulière de la location prévue, la catégorie de voiture et les fins de la location. Les cartes de débit ne sont pas acceptées.

Au moment de la location, le conducteur doit présenter un permis de conduire valide à son nom de son pays de résidence.  Les clients présentant un permis de conduire rédigé en caractères non latins doivent également présenter un permis de conduire international, à titre de traduction, en plus de leur permis en cours de validité.

I have small children, do you offer child seats?
Yes, we offer baby, infant, child and boosters seats. A baby seat is typically suitable for a child from birth to 12 months old and weighing no more than 13 kilos. An infant seat is typically suitable for a child aged 9 months to 4 years old and weighing between 9 and 18 kilos. A child seat is typically suitable for a child aged 4 to 11 years old and weighing between 15 and 36 kilos. A booster seat is typically suitable for a child aged 8 to 11 years old and weighing between 20 and 45 kilos.
In some rental locations, we may arrange for a third party to fit the seat for you. But remember, it is always your responsibility to check the seat is fitted correctly before you drive away.
Please note: In Portugal, all children must normally use a child car seat until they’re 12 years old or 135cm tall.
How much are your child seats?
The fee for renting a seat will depend on where you are renting, but you can expect it to cost 11.56 EUR a day. If you rent the vehicle for more than 10 days, you will only be charged for a maximum of 10 days and get to use the seat for the duration of your rental, up to 30 days.
If the seat is damaged, lost or stolen, you will have to pay for a replacement. This is likely to cost between 20.00 EUR and 150.00 EUR on top of the hire fee. If you can show the damage or loss was not in any way your fault or due to your negligence, we will refund this cost to you.
I am not familiar with the area; can I rent a GPS (satellite navigation system)?
Travel Companion Tablet - This provides a GPS service as well as other useful features you may need when travelling. - The fee for hiring Travel Companion Tablet for GPS is between 10.99 EUR and 14.99 EUR a day depending on features activated. If you rent the vehicle for more than 10 days, you'll only be charged for a maximum of 10 days and get to use the device for the duration of your rental, up to 28 days. If the Travel Companion Tablet is damaged, lost or stolen, you'll have to pay for a replacement. This is likely to cost from 175.00 EUR on top of the hire fee. If you show the damage or loss was not in any way your fault or due to negligence, we will refund this cost to you.

Please note: In some countries, it is against the law to use a GPS that tells you where speed cameras are. If you plan to travel outside of the Portugal you should check to see whether you can use our GPS as it will give you speed information.
Do you offer an audio tour guide service on your GPS?
No, unfortunately we do not offer an audio tour guide service at this time.

Please note: In many countries, including Portugal, it is illegal to drive while using a handheld mobile phone, tablet or other communications device. It is your responsibility to drive safely and according to the laws of the country you are driving in.

I am intending to drive along toll roads; do you offer a device to make this quicker and easier for me?
Yes, some rental locations offer E-Toll in selected vehicles. An E-Toll device lets you drive though tolls without needing to stop and pay.
How much is E-Toll?
The fee for the e-toll device depends on where you are renting but you can expect it to be 1.89 EUR a day you have it activated. You activate it by opening the box attached to your windscreen.
If the e-toll device is damaged, lost or stolen, you will have to pay for a replacement. This is likely to cost from around 30.75 EURon top of the hire fee. If you can show the damage or loss was not in any way your fault or due to your negligence, we will refund this cost to you.
Please note: this service and any toll charges you incur will be invoiced to you after the vehicle is returned to us. You can expect to receive your invoice around 30 days after you’ve returned the vehicle.
