La aceptación de la Exoneración en caso de pérdida o daños (LDW) reduce la responsabilidad financiera de los clientes y conductores adicionales autorizados a un monto de entre CAD 250.00 y CAD 2500.00 dependiendo del grupo al que pertenezca el vehículo alquilado, si el vehículo es objeto de daños o hurto durante la vigencia del contrato de alquiler. La utilización del vehículo que contravenga las restricciones de uso que aparecen en el contrato de alquiler puede anular la LDW y responsabilizar totalmente al cliente de cualquier daño que sufriera el vehículo.

La Exoneración en caso de pérdida o daños parcial (PDW) está disponible en algunas oficinas de alquiler con el fin de eximir al cliente del pago de los primeros CAD 1,000 por la pérdida o los daños del vehículo de Avis.

Avis acepta la mayoría de las tarjetas de crédito reconocidas al momento del alquiler como identificación de crédito.

Lista de tarjetas de crédito aceptadas: Tarjeta de pago Avis, American Express, AT&T Capital, Diner's Club, Diner's Club Int'l, Discover, JCB, MasterCard y Visa.

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid drivers license in the drivers name.  All customers must also present a second form of ID. Please refer to the Additional Information topic for details.
Canada licenses required by issuing province to rent a vehicle are:  Manitoba requires Class 5 Full (F), New Brunswick requires Class 7 (level 2 only) and Class 5, Ontario requires Class G & G2 and all other provinces require Class 5.

Customers presenting a drivers license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to their valid drivers license.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) and PAI-Plus are optional coverages the customer may purchase at the time of rental.

Personal Accident Insurance provides accidental death and medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the Avis car.

Personal Accident Insurance Plus offers an Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit.

PAI Plus offers an Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit of CAD 100,000 per accident for the renter and all passengers in the Avis vehicle.

Coverage for paralysis is CAD 100,000 for the renter and CAD 10,000 for each passenger.

PAI Plus also includes coverage for:

• Emergency transportation
• Emergency accomodations
• Road Hazard Service
• Towing
• Legal Defense
• Lost keys/remote
• Funeral Expenses

PAI Plus benefits described are payable in addition to any other insurance benefits.

There are limitations for this coverage.  For complete details & restrictions, the customer may inquire at the time of rental.

GST applies on PAI Plus in all provinces.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

Winter Tires are mandatory on certain roads or the renter/driver may be ticketed by RCMP.

QUEBEC -
It is mandatory that all vehicles registered in the province of Quebec be equipped with winter tires during the winter months of December through March. All rentals will be charged a daily Tire Management Fee up to 4.50 CAD per day for year-round tire maintenance.  The fee is subject to concession recovery fees, GST and QST.

ALL OTHER PROVINCES -
Winter tire equipped vehicles maybe available in the winter season for reservations at some locations. An additional fee up to 20.00 CAD per day will apply.  Fees vary by location and car group.

For vehicle Groups: F (Intermediate), G (Premium), H (Luxury), K (Convertible), P (Full Size Pickup), W (Standard), L (Full Size SUV), Z (Premium SUV) and all Group X (Specialty Vehicles).

At locations in Canada, you may be asked to provide an additional form of identification as a condition to rent a vehicle. Acceptable forms of additional identification are: 

• Military ID
• Certificate of Indian Status
• Canadian passport
• Canadian Permanent Resident Card
• Foreign passport that meets the requirements
• Nexus or Fast/Express card
• Non-driver's license issued by a province or territory
• ID card issued by the federal government, provincial or territorial government
• Credit card (other than the one being used for payment of rental) in Customer's name

Rather than requiring customers to be 25 to rent, Avis at this location now rents to customers between the ages of 21-24.  An underage surcharge may apply and will automatically be applied to the reservation.

Additionally, the following restrictions also will apply for renters between the ages of 21-24: Rentals of luxury cars, mini-vans, 12-passenger vans, specialty cars, and SUVs will not be permitted.

Government Minimum Age Policy

• Minimum age 21 (no underage fee applies). 

The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of gas or there will be a charge for refueling.

Most locations offer a prepaid gas option which you can accept at the rental location.

If the vehicle is driven less than 125 kilometers there may be an additional refueling fee, unless a gas receipt is presented at time of return. The customer can check at the time of rental for complete details.

Roadside SafetyNet

• Taxes not included in the Estimated Total and will be applied at the time of rental
• Roadside SafetyNet (RSN) service is available at all participating Avis locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands and New Zealand.
• The daily/weekly fee for the Avis Roadside SafetyNet Option is subject to change.
• RSN covers the cost for assistance with key replacement, lockouts, tire change service fee, jump starts and emergency fuel delivery (up to 3 gallons).
• Prohibited use of the vehicle will void this option.

Other Options

• Rental options not selected/offered on the avis.com website can not be modified online but have been calculated in the Estimated Total.
• Taxes not included in the Estimated Total and will be applied at the time of rental.
• Modifications to these rental options must be made by contacting customer service or can be made at the rental counter. 

The primary renter and any Additional driver must be at least 23 years old. If the primary driver or any additional driver are between 23 and 25 years old, a young driver surcharge will be applied. Coverage packages are not available for young drivers and/ or additional young drivers.

The vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. You must return it to us with a full tank. We recommend you fill up as close to the return location as you can on the return date and keep the receipt to show us. If you don't return the vehicle with a full tank - and you can't show us a receipt for fuel - we will charge you at the price of 21 MAD per litre plus the cost of refuelling the car for you of 500 MAD.
You can choose the Fuel Up Front option. With this option you pay for a full tank of fuel for 18 MAD per litre. Then you just return the vehicle with whatever's left in the tank (even if it's virtually empty) so long as the engine still runs.

Vehicles at this location can be driven throughout the Canadian Provinces with no restrictions. Based on availability; One-way rentals may be allowed to some Canadian cities. Vehicles at this location can be driven throughout the continental US with no restrictions. Based on availability; One-way rentals may be allowed to some US cities.

Vehicles at this location are not allowed to travel into Alaska. One-way rentals are also not permitted.
