A glossary of terms to help answer your questions.

Airport Fee / Airport User fee / Concession Fee / Concession Fee Recoupment / Concessionaire Fee / Concession Recovery Fee / Concession Rental Fee: A fee collected and remitted by us to the owner of the property where the rental transaction occurs. 

Contract Fee / Highway Use Fee / Local Surcharge / Mitigation Fee / Road Safety Fee / Security Fee / Stadium Surcharge: A fee imposed by a state, country or municipal government or local authority.

Convention Center Surcharge: A fee imposed by a state, country or municipal government or local authority.

Customer Facility Charge: A fee used for the development and improvement of car rental facilities at the airport.

Energy Recovery Fee: A fee used to recoup certain energy costs related to our rental operations.

One-Way Fee: A fee that applies when renters pick up a car at one rental location and return it to a different location.

Parking Surcharge / Parking Tax: A surcharge imposed by operations of parking facilities.

Police Training Fee: A fee imposed by Massachusetts to fund the Municipal Police Training Fund

Taxes / Local Tax: Sales tax is required by the government bodies where the rental car location is situated.

Tourism Fee: An assessment authorized to be collected by state statute.

Transportation Facility Fee / Transportation Fee / Passenger Transportation Recovery Fee: A fee imposed by a state, country or municipal government or local authority.

Vehicle Licensing Cost Recovery Fee: A fee used to recoup costs required to put a car on the road, such as for title, registration, and inspection.

Vehicle License Fee / Reimbursement Charge: A fee used to recoup costs required to put a car on the road, such as for title, registration, and inspection.

Waste Tire / Battery Fee: A fee imposed to cover the state’s cost to dispose of worn car batteries and tires. Rental car companies operating in Florida generally pass on this fee onto customers either directly or indirectly.
