Depending on car group rented, customer is liable for an amount ranging between 10,000.00 EUR and 44,000.00 EUR if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. Purchase of CDW reduces liability to an amount between 800.00 EUR and 2,600.00 EUR depending on car group rented in the event of an accident to the Avis vehicle.
Theft Protection (TP) is Optional (taxable)
Depending on car group rented, customer is liable for an amount ranging between 10,000.00 EUR and 44,000.00 EUR if Theft Protection (TP) is not taken. Purchase of TP reduces liability to an amount between 800.00 EUR and 2,600.00 EUR depending on car group rented for theft of the Avis vehicle.
Note: In the case of damage or theft to the Avis vehicle a completed police accident form/theft certificate and the keys to the Avis car must be given to the Avis location.
If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

At this location the minimum age is 21 for all car groups. A Young Driver fee will apply to drivers under 25 years of age. The Young Driver fee is 32.50 EUR per day per driver, with a maximum 10 day charge per driver.

Driver's License Requirements
International Driving Permit is required unless driver has a license issued within the European Union.
Non European Union Holders must show an international driving permit.Applicable to all drivers, a valid driver's license must have been held for a minimum of one year.
Driving licenses written in non-roman alphabet must be supported by an international driving permit.
Exception: A driver's license from Greece is acceptable.
Cargo Vans: Same conditions
A special truck licence is required for heavy trucks.

Travel Into Other Countries
Avis cars are permitted outside of France borders except for the following restrictions:

Cars are permitted to travel into the U.K. as long as they are returned to the mainland.
Cars are not permitted to travel in to the Republic of Ireland.
Note: Cars are allowed to cross on the Chunnel.
Travel into Switzerland
All vehicles driving on Swiss highways must purchase a special tax sticker (Swiss Hwy. Sticker). Cost is 40.00 SFR and is available for purchase at the border crossings. Customer is subject to a fine of 100.00 SFR if caught without the sticker.
Cars are allowed to travel from mainland France to Corsica or Sardinia, provided they are returned to the mainland. The insurance is valid on the islands; however if the car breaks down, a vehicle exchange will not be provided.
