  • Reliability of directions subject to timing of software implementation as well as that of which has been provided by the maker of the installed maps.
  • I (renter) acknowledge that the rental vehicle may be equipped with GPS which utilizes global positioning satellites.
  • I acknowledge that GPS may be limited by atmospheric or topographical conditions.
  • I further acknowledge that GPS may be rendered inoperative if GPS is tampered with or destroyed and or damaged in an accident or if the satellite systems are obstructed and inoperative.
  • Customer is responsible for all costs in the event of lost, stolen or damaged GPS Unit and all of its components.
  • Renter agrees to release and hold Avis harmless for any GPS failures.

Extended Roadside Assistance

Plan ahead for peace of mind.

  • Lockout Service - Gain entry when keys are locked inside the vehicle. Get replacement keys or locksmith assistance.
  • Flat Tire Assistance & Replacement - We'll replace a flat or damaged tire with the spare, or get the car towed to the nearest service facility.
  • Jump Start - If your vehicle experiences battery failure, we'll provide a jump start.
  • Fuel Delivery - If you run out of gas, we'll deliver 3 gallons to your location.

Terms & Conditions
You may purchase added protection under Extended Roadside Assistance to cover potential costs associated with lost keys, remote entry devices, lockouts, flat tires, towing (if the car becomes inoperable), jump starts emergency fuel delivery (up to 3 gallons). If you do not purchase the Extended Roadside Assistance in advance, you may incur added costs for providing the above referenced services. When paying in advance for Extended Roadside Assistance, you will pay for any full or partial day.

Avis Refueling Options

For your convenience, we offer several convenient refueling options:

Avis Fuel Service Option:

Fuel Service Option: Save yourself time and frustration by adding our Fuel Service Option to your next online reservation. By selecting the Fuel Service Option, you can purchase a tank of gas directly from Avis at the time of rental, and avoid the hassle of searching for a gas station to fill the tank before returning the car.

If the Fuel Service Option isn't exactly what you're looking for, choose one of the following refueling options at the time of rental:

Self-Service Refueling:

Self-Service: Purchase fuel just prior to returning and return the car to Avis with a full tank of gas. If you choose this option, Avis will not charge you for fuel.

EZFuel™ and Fuel Service Charge:

Driving under 75 miles? With our newest refueling service, customers who drive fewer than 75 miles pay a low flat fee for fuel and then return the car without stopping at the pump. Select this option and we'll automatically charge you a flat fee of $13.99. (If you FILL UP THE CAR AND present a receipt for your fuel purchase, the $13.99 charge will be removed when you return the car.)

EZFuel option is not available at all locations. Please contact your renting location to confirm the availability of this service.

Please Note: Only the Fuel Service Option can be reserved online. Please select FSO on our Rental Options page. If you do not select the Fuel Service Option during your online reservation, you may choose a refueling option at the time of rental.

Fuel Service Option Terms & Conditions:

  • Fees for the Fuel Service Option are not included in the Estimated Total.
  • Fees are assessed and applied at the time of rental.
  • Fees vary by location and are determined by current market value of gasoline in surrounding area of rental location, as well as the fuel tank size of rental vehicle.
  • Customer will not receive credit or refund for unused fuel left in tank at time of return.
Child Safety Seats

Child safety seats are available for infants and toddlers at most U.S. Avis locations. The usual cost is $13.00/day or $65.00/week (5-7 days) with a maximum of $65.00/rental for the use of an Avis child safety seat. Seats must be returned to the original renting location or an additional $15 fee will apply to the rental. Failure to return the seat in the same condition as received (minus normal wear and tear) may result in a $50 additional charge.

Types and brands of cars seats vary by location.

Our child safety seats can be reserved only when renting a car with Avis. For US and Canadian locations, child safety seats can be reserved and modified online. Other countries may require you to call and request a child safety seat. Infant and Toddler Safety Seat

For your convenience, rear-facing infant, toddler safety seats and/or child booster seats are available at many of our locations. Rear-facing infant seats should only be used for infants up to 22 pounds. Toddler safety seats are approved for children up to 40 pounds. If your child weighs more than 40 pounds, please reserve a child booster seat instead.

At corporate-owned locations, if your reservation is made 48 hours prior to pick up, we guarantee availability of a baby seat. Within 48 hours of pick up and at licensee-owned locations, your request will be held with your reservation, but the rental is made on a first-come, first-served basis so availability is not guaranteed.

Due to liability issues, Avis personnel are not permitted to install child safety seats into vehicles for customers. However, upon request, Avis will provide an instruction sheet or booklet on the proper installation of the child safety seat. Other questions regarding installation should be addressed directly with the rental location.

Child Booster Seat

For your convenience, rear-facing infant, toddler safety seats and/or child booster seats are available at many of our locations. Approved for children 40 to 80 pounds. If your child weighs less than 40 pounds, please reserve either a rear-facing infant seat, for infants up to 22 pounds, or a toddler safety seat, for children up to 40 pounds.

Passengers with Disabilities

The following services are available for our drivers and passengers with disabilities. To ensure availability, products and services should be reserved at least one day in advance via phone reservation. Call 1-800-669-9585.

  • Transfer Board - Enables easier transfer from a wheelchair into and out of the vehicle.
  • Panoramic Mirror -Provides a much larger field of view for any driver.
  • Swivel Seat - Allows the driver or passenger to turn his or her body in the car seat with limited effort. The swivel seat can easily be removed from underneath the person for transport..
  • Hand Controls - Enables drivers to accelerate or brake using a hand-controlled device. Drivers without disabilities are able to drive the vehicle without interference from the hand controls.
  • Spinner Knob - Enables the driver to turn the steering wheel with a full turning radius using only one hand.
  • Easy Access Bus - Offers an electrically-operated ramp, two ADA* compliant wheelchair positions, wider doors, spacious aisles and low luggage racks.

Speech and Hearing Impaired Services - Through a special device called a Teletypewriter or Telecommunications Display Device (TTY/TDD). This is a text telephone or related computer program which works through a teletype system.
