Do I need to be an Avis Preferred member to receive complimentary Avis status through the AAdvantage^® program?

Yes. If you are not enrolled in Avis Preferred, you will need to visit the Avis web site and enroll for free. You will receive an email with your Avis wizard number that you can use to complete the AAdvantage® verification to be granted Avis status.

What are the benefits of Avis Preferred Plus status?

The benefits of Avis Preferred Plus status include:

• Complimentary one-car class upgrade - members will receive a complimentary one-car class upgrade based on availability. Members must rent an intermediate (group C) vehicle or larger in order to qualify for an upgrade. Offered at participating Avis locations in the U.S, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
• Enjoy expedited service – go straight to your car at most locations

What are the benefits of Avis President’s Club status?

The benefits of Avis President’s Club status include:

• Guaranteed rental car availability – members will receive a vehicle as long as they have made a reservation 24 hours in advance of rental checkout, up to a full-size 4-door vehicle.
• Complimentary two-car class upgrades - members will receive a complimentary two-car class upgrade based on availability. Members must rent an intermediate (group C) vehicle or larger in order to qualify for an upgrade. Offered at participating Avis locations in the U.S, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
• Enjoy expedited service – go straight to your car at most locations.
• Dedicated 24/7 number for customer support.

How do I receive my Avis status?

Once you qualify for Avis status through AAdvantage® Loyalty Point Rewards or by being a Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Mastercard® primary cardholder, your Avis Preferred account information must be verified to receive status. To verify your Avis Preferred account information, visit the Rewards Hub in your AAdvantage® account. Find your Avis status reward on the Rewards tab and follow the instructions.

What happens if my Avis profile couldn’t be verified when I am completing the AAdvantage® verification to be granted Avis status?

The Wizard number, first name, last name, email address, and zip code that you submit on the AAdvantage® verification page within your account on AA.com must match the information that is in your Avis profile. The first and last name in your AAdvantage® account must also match what is listed in your Avis profile. Please check your Avis profile information on the Avis web site to ensure that your information matches. Please resubmit your information on the AAdvantage® verification page with the correct information. 

The AAdvantage® program will not be able to grant you Avis status if you already have the same status or higher with Avis.

Can members outside the USA participate?

Yes, this benefit is available internationally.

What happens if my Avis profile couldn’t be verified, and there is no option to try again in my AAdvantage® account?

If your profile couldn’t be verified, please contact Avis.

Can I earn AAdvantage® miles and Avis Preferred points for the same rental?

Members may not receive both points and miles for the same rental. If you make a reservation on aa.com and include your AAdvantage® number, you will receive AAdvantage® miles on your rental.

When will miles for my Avis rental post to my AAdvantage® account?

Please allow 6-8 weeks after you complete your rental for the miles to credit to your account.
