Avis allows rental cars to travel into Mexico for customers who meet all of the following conditions:
- You are a U.S. resident.
- You are renting through a corporate account (you must have a corporate Avis Worldwide Discount number).
- You are renting from a location that allows travel into Mexico.
- You notify the rental agent that you plan to take the rental car into Mexico.
- Please see RTX Risk Management for insurance required for driving from the US into Mexico - If you do not have this insurance document, You must purchase the special insurance required for driving in Mexico. This insurance is available only at Avis locations that allow travel into Mexico.
- You return the rental car in the United States (one-way travel into Mexico is not allowed).
The Avis locations that allow travel into Mexico are found only in states that share a border with Mexico: California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
